Straight Ahead Colorado trains Christian volunteers to lead weekly Bible Studies in juvenile detention centers, and some become mentors to these youth. These volunteers receive on-going training and support, as well as materials written by Straight Ahead Ministries. Volunteers have year-round opportunities to interact with these youth in a variety of other settings, such as Camping and through our Christmas For Every Child campaign.

As of August, 2002, of the 26 youth who have resided at the Straight Ahead discipleship home in Massachusetts, 21 have completed their high school education, 15 have gone on to college, one entered the Marines, three obtained full time work and seven returned back to their families. Two were rearrested after leaving, for a recidivism rate of 10 percent.

No other nonprofit organization in the United States does to the extent of what Straight Ahead Colorado and Straight Ahead Ministries does in reaching out to incarcerated teens with the message of hope and the love of Christ.
